West Hollywood Library Wins 2012 Westside Urban Forum Design Award

Johnson Favaro has been awarded a 2012 Design Award in the Public/Institutional category by the Westside Urban Forum for the design of the new West Hollywood Library. The new 48,000 SF project is the largest capital investment and most significant building in the 25-year history of the City of West Hollywood. Part of the first phase of implementation of Johnson Favaro's master plan for West Hollywood Park, the library recently achieved LEED Gold certification.

West Hollywood Library Achieves LEED Gold Certification

The new West Hollywood Library surpassed planned energy and sustainability goals with its recent LEED Gold certification--one of the few municipal buildings in California to have achieved this standard. Some of the sustainable features of the project include low-emitting and locally-sourced materials, optimized-energy performance systems and a photovoltaic system that converts energy from the sun into electricity for the building.
