Student Services/Administration Building, Los Angeles Trade Technical College – Los Angeles, CA

Located on this prominent site in downtown Los Angeles, the Student Services/Administration Building faces onto Grand Avenue, the principal thoroughfare and “main street” of downtown. This important site has become the new face for the college, the oldest in the Los Angeles Community College District system. The building is the result of a comprehensive master plan and together with the Technology Classroom Building forms the South Campus, the largest project in the District that emerged out of bond measures passed in 2001. The One-Stop Student Services Center utilizes web-based queuing technology to best facilitate students through the enrollment process, minimize wait times and as a result, reduces building floor area by eliminating large waiting rooms. The collaborative programming and design process, involving all Student Services departments, students and College Administration, included a streamlining of the admissions and enrollment process adhering to the principle of a “student first” customer service model.
