Price Art Galleries - Pacific Palisades, CA

The Price Art Galleries is a two-story addition to a 1978 Ray Kappe house in Rustic Canyon in the Pacific Palisades. The 2,400 SF addition houses part of the owner's extensive collection of modern and contemporary art in four separate gallery spaces. The project was conceived through the intimate relationship between the building's natural surroundings and a seamless continuity between inside and outside that incorporates the beauty and complexity of natural forms, textures, colors and senses into an overall ensemble of built and organic spaces. The design process involved intense collaboration with the client, the artists who created the artwork housed within and the works of art themselves.
