Time Warner Public Access TV Station - Santa Clarita, CA
The existing 3,000 SF Type V mini-mall building was renovated to accommodate a television station with a complete studio, control and editing facilities. The facility was conceived and realized as a place where friends, neighbors, community and business leaders come to share their thoughts, concerns and aspirations for their community through the medium of local television. Programs created by community members are designed, produced and broadcast here with the assistance of in-house professional staff. The state-of-the-art production studio was designed as a kind of community theater and has become the nexus of the neighborhood. Also included are offices, storage, and reception. The project features a new facade with signage, new entry and 16' high lobby and central hall. Paint colors, lighting and floor materials are calibrated to achieve a violet and blue-hued ambient light evocative of video technology.
