The Chaffey Community College District required a new campus for 15,000 students in the City of Chino to respond to the demands of the growing population of the San Gabriel Valley and San Bernardino County. The campus will occupy 100 acres of a 710 acre surplus State of California property formerly used for agricultural purposes. The 30-year plan regulates development of the College to its full 15,000 student capacity. Our assistance included site acquisition, approvals through the environmental process required of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) planning approvals through various departments at the City, coordination of environmental remediation including the preservation of native flora and fauna habitat and extensive planning, engineering and coordination of the storm water management system combining on site percolation with a retention pond and discharge into the at-capacity San Bernardino county system. Construction of the first three buildings also designed by Johnson Favaro was completed in 2009.
